Background

Since the Max-Planck-Institute of Colloids and Interfaces (MPIKG) was founded on 01.01.1992, there have been a great number of Chinese scientists ever working in this institute. As time passing by, many of the Chinese alumni have returned to China and are becoming an important force in the fields of colloid and interface sciences in China. To acknowledge MPIKG for its great contribution to the Chinese communities of colloid and interface sciences, as proposed by Prof. Helmuth Möhwald, one of the founding directors of MPIKG, we would like to organize the “1^st Sino-German bilateral symposium on colloids and interfaces”, Oct. 29-30, in Beijing. We hope it would initiate a series of scientific symposiums between Chinese scientists and the German scientists from MPIKG for establishing more collaborative research in the future.
